Massage therapy is a hands-on treatment that passively loosens and stretches tense or injured muscles, ligaments, and tendons. By improving circulation, massage therapy clears lactic acid and other waste, increases flexibility and mobility, and reduces pain and stiffness in muscles and joints.
Young or old, healthy or sick, everyone can benefit from massage. Some see the immense benefits of giving themselves a hour of "me time".  Athletes use massage for its preventative effects both before and after training or competition. Others use massage to aid in recovery from illness, injury, or stress.
